I’ve made several flights over the area in small planes all made possible by a fellow co-worker and by a business associate of mine. Topped off with lunch and a round of golf in DV, it makes for a great way to spend the day. I highly recommend it. I do believe there are sightseeing flights available out of Lone Pine. I don’t know what the cost is. However, most airports will have pilots for hire that provide sightseeing flights of your choice. Pack a camera and lots of film. And don't forget the video camera.
