The Panamint Daisy grows only in Wildrose Canyon and a couple of nearby canyons (this info from a ranger I ran into a few years ago while examining them). Their bloom cycle depends on specific precipitation/temperature parameters. You can tell the Panamint Daisy from the prolific Mojave Daisy found all over the desert, the Panamint has fewer flowers but the flower is much larger. The small cluster in Wildrose Canyon I've seen produce flowers approaching the size of a small sunflower.
