I have much hiking in the past, but of late, really enjoy car-camping. Much more sights can be seen.
I have never meet a spot in the desert I didn't like. But I always find myself coming back to the Saline Hot Springs (circumnavigating Hunter Mtn in and out), The Pleasant/Sout Park loop, Goler Wash and Butte Valley, and lastly the Cerro Gordo area.
Alas, not much interest in Death Valley proper, since the 1994 DPA
