Yes, Death Valley is open for car travel, but expect extremely hot, dry weather. Daytime temperatures could reach 120F/48C. Humidity could be as low as 5%. Death by dehydration can happen in an hour. Carry plenty of water and drink it. If your car breaks down, stay with it. Do not set out on foot. The vehicle offers shelter from the sun and is easy to locate. Let someone know where you are going and when you are expected back. Good luck and enjoy!
