Most cops aren't "thugs" - those who perceive them as such may have had a bad experience or may be doing something that they shouldn't which draws some attention. I know several cops and they're great people, but while on the job, they need to be a bit pushy - if you had any idea the crap they need to put up with to defend your rights, you might be a little more understanding. I could never be a cop because I wouldn't be patient enough to deal with the people.
