I know you want info. from DV experts, but I going to replay anyway. :-)
It is real easy to spend two days just doing the basic tourist stuff around Furnace Creek, without any long or hard hikes. I was there last Mar. and weather wise it was great, got a hard long hail shower. :-) sunny and clear the rest of the time. Park the MH and have the SUV to explore with, that should be a perfect combo on the 1st trip.
Only you will ever know if you should spend time elsewhere, BUT you should go once, and 2 days is about the min. time you will need.
