Visiting DV This Summer

A friend of mine and I want to visit Death Valley in August, the 15th to be exact. But we don't know if this would be a good idea with what high tempatures probably will scorch the valley. Anyone with any advise to "weather" or not this is a bad idea (the visit? and excuse the lame pun). Please email me at fickleguy365@yahoo.com with any advise. Thanks!
