I'm not sure if it's legal to mt. bike in a national park; probably you can check that on the main DV web page or call the ranger station. As far as the trail, it is almost all "single track"; not very technical but steep and narrow in places, and then there's the sharp switchbacks toward the top. Plus, don't forget you'll be at altitude. The trail is very heavily used by hikers, and since it's so narrow (especially the first couple of miles), you would definitely have a problem there. Even if it's legal to mt. bike, you might get bonked on the head by irate hikers. Wear a helmet or leave your head at home!!! :-)
