Unfortunately there will always be the fools who drive onto the Racetrack (they must have seen too many of those car commercials). Desert Dryad and Richard are right on the $ about the surroundings. The Racetrack and the Grandstand are beautiful, but the colorful surrounding mountains make for some good pictures, good hikes, and some good visual rehabilitation from the busy world. If you can find your spot out there, it also makes for some good solitude.
I must admit that it was the mystery of the moving rocks which lured me out to the Racetrack originally, but now it's the beauty that keeps me coming :)
