I would contend that not only is this an elitist proposition, but it is also the quintessence of hypocracy! I cannot cite any specific studies other than my own anecdotal observations, but I would pit the environmental impact of my air-conditioned, 4WD SUV against that of a horse or any other form of equine transportation any day.
