I was just there on Thursday morning. Did not see a soul the whole trip, except for a nice sized deer through Hunter Mountian. The road is very much a bad washboard, but is fairly easy. Make sure to go before the afternoon. It was 120+ at Stove Pipe Wells at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.
