Summer car testers....any stories?

Anyone have any run-ins (literally) with any crazy pre-production car tester engineers racing around the valley. In '94-95 I was almost run off the road by some German engineer in a BMW test bed doing about 95 in the hills between Panamint Springs and Stovepipe Wells.
It's fun to see what new vehicles will be available in a couple of years, but these guys drive like maniacs!
