Hi everyone, I went to Saratoga Springs and found a good variety (13 species) of shorebirds. Highlights were: PECTORAL SANDPIPER (1) This was with a small flock of peeps in the wet, grassy area on the NW side of the ponds, where there is spillage out onto the mudflats. It had a clean white belly, contrasting streaked breast, yellow legs, and a short bill. Long-billed Dowitcher (150+) Western Sandpiper (10) Least Sandpiper (6+) Spotted Sandpiper (2) Common Snipe (4) Greater Yellowlegs (1) Red-necked Phhalarope (10+) Wilson's Phalarope (8+) Killdeer Black-necked Stilt (1) American Avocet (5) White-faced Ibis (5) Other highlights were a SCAUP SP., 6 Common Nighthawks, and a Loggerhead Shrike.
