I get daily reports on the McNally Fire - it is over 130,000 acres burned now, and 80% contained. I was supposed to be up at Monache this weekend, but obviously the fire has all of that area closed. The Sherman Pass Jeep Trail is apparently history. What the fire didn't get, the bulldozers they brought in, did.
Interesting you say that the smoke was better than it has been. On the weatherunderground.com they said smokey conditions for the Mammoth area. I know they have had some smoke from the McNally fire, but the other areas of Owens Valley did not have any reports of smoke. Is there another fire somewhere, or is the weatherunderground inconsistent in it's smoke reports?
