Automobile Company Test Mules

When I lived in Trona (1987-92), I listened when I could to the DVNP morning report on my scanner. It was a lengthy report. Permits were listed, and as mentioned, so were the automobile companies who were testing in the valley.
I love to watch for automobile manufacturer's test mules running along my travels. In the last couple weeks, while on my bi-weekly commute from Trona to my home in Owens Valley, I've been seeing test mules that I speculate are from Kia. Yesterday I saw three go by that appeared to be similar in shape to the Honda Insight, but heavily cobbled up and the usual tacky do-dads that are used to disguise them from sneaky photographers from other companies or the press.
In the Owens Valley, I've spotted Volvo, BMW and Rolls Royce test mules in the last weeks.
