Junior and I have driven the road twice in the last 18 months. The most significant obstacle is the waterfall several miles up canyon from the Inyo Mines. To be safe, you should walk it first and use a spotter. A locker would help significantly at this location. Junior did it on his first attempt in his short bed pickup. On the downhill side into Lee, there are two locations that require care. The first isn't too difficult, but the rust marks on the rocks attest to the fact that a lot of drivers just drive through without first looking for the best line. The last difficult location is the drop off into the stream bed near the end. This requires care if there has been any wash out of the stream bank that you must descend. Have fun and take two vehilces - it is a long walk out.
