Burro Schmitt's Tunnel can be reached from Opal Canyon, off of highway 14, northeast of Redrock Canyon. If you are in the Jawbone area, stop in Jawbone Station and Ruby, or whoever is manning the station for the day, can give you a Friends of Jawbone Map that will direct you to Burro Schmidts Tunnel. There are signs from Opal Canyon pointing the way. There are routes that are both 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive accessible, depending upon the vehicle you are driving and your sense of adventure.
