Meyer's Ranch

Do any of you know what the story is about the torching of the buildings at Meyers Ranch? I met some of the family that owns the ranch, on one of my trips through that area. They were real nice folks. It seems like such a shame for them to lose their special hideaway in that manner. I also noticed that the NPS had attempted to close that canyon off from Goler Wash access. Then later it was open again?? Anybody know what that was all about??
