Mining email addresses from message boards is a tactic used by spammers for many years. It is common now for netizins to omit or falsify their email address when posting.
I received one of the same spams for each 'deathvalley.com' address that appears on this website, and also one from a totally different website for which I am administrator. Upon further inspection, the source of the email is a hacker from China. Apparently, spams and computer viruses are becoming popular exports of that country...
