I camped at Hunter Cabin last July. The road all the way from the Racetrack to Saline Valley road is fine. They do get snow up there and it can be deep, also alot of water can close the road thru Hidden Valley. Check with the park a day or two before you go. The vehicles you are driving should be fine, unless the is alot of snow. When I drove that route I didn't even use 4 wheeldrive.
