Since you folks are on the subject of river rafters....... great book you gotta get "over the edge: Death in Grand canyon" By Michael Ghiglieri Gripping accounts of all known fatal mishaps in the most famous of the worlds seven natural wonders. You want river raft stories... this is the book. There are a few guides that are not as pristine as the DPA would want...and a few of them are still lashed under a rock somewhere in that river. You wont be able to put this book down. My favorite is the japanese visitor with the camera who told his wife to step back to get a wider angle shot. Her screams were heard for 7 seconds as she fell and the buzzards got to her before the park service. Some folks do not belong.
