I hiked into Beveridge about ten years ago from the Saline Valley side. Pure hell for strong people, though my nine year old son trooped along quite well. You might be able to drive to the White Swan talcum mine, but I doubt it. That road has been washed out for a long time. The hike up is extremely strenuous, the trail will be in poor condition, and you will likely lose it before finding the town. I don't recommend it for first timers.
