My first trip to Death Valley was in the summer of 1969. My parents who had divorced years ago were trying again. My Mom, brother and I drove out to meet him from Indiana. He tooks us all over Southern Ca. and Nv., in a 67 VW van. The two places I remember most were Yosemite and Death Valley. I thought for sure if I looked hard enough I would see a cow skull sticking out of the desert floor. Never found one, but what I did find was the most interesting place. The about six years ago I saw a show on The Racetrack, I HAD to see it for myself. Bought a Jeep and have visited once or twice a year since. Every time I see a road sign or map I see another place I have to see. I find it hard to belive that its such a small Park and it takes a lifetime to see it all.

My favorite places are the Racetrack and Cloride City, how did they get all that stuff up there? I plan on exploring more of this wonderful place every spring. Need more rain for wild flowers. The most awesome thing is the life in the valley. Such a hot, dry, desolate place, yet so much life. The Aluival Fans blow my mind and the Salt Flatsand the Iron Work on Scotty's Castle, and the Charcol Kilns. I can go on forever about Death Valley.
Thanks for letting me share.
