The best part of the trip is from Sac to Carson City. Very scenic. Lake Tahoe is always nice to see. Don't forget to try your luck at the tables and slots. After going through Fallon, look for Grimes Point. It is a hillside that has plenty of petroglyphs to check out. It is just past Salt Wells where you can sample the other Nevada style fun. ;) If you want to be lonlier, go on old 50 (now hiway 722) after Middlegate. You'll rejoin 50 near Austin. Then on to Eureka, Ely, Baker and Utah. I count 11 named passes between Fallon and the Utah border on this route. No wonder, if you consider that Nevada has the most named mountain ranges in the nation.
