The Death Valley area is very geologically active, so there is lots to see.
a lot of the features are pretty old, and are hard to spot unless you really know what to look for. So an old volcano may not look like what you think a volcano should look like, because it is mixed in with a lot of other more recent features.
Here's crater mountain, south of big pine. It actually looks like a volcano.
