Question: If I were to take it into my head to hike up Happy Canyon from Panamint Valley would I be in violation of all that is sacred and holy if I damaged a few willow branches as I made my way through the dense thicket of trees that have now hidden any hint of a road? Considering that the lower part of the canyon is a Wilderness Area this is not an academic question. I'm not suggesting the use of a machete to make one's way through the willows, just the gentle pushing aside of an obstructing branch with the inevitble damage to either a branch of the tree or one of its leaves.
