We bought a new Jeep Cherokee in 1996 and it now has over 110,000 miles on it. It has been essentially trouble free and has been a great vehicle to tow with our Motor Home to and from those off-road areas we like to visit ---Death Valley being one of them. I'd recommend a Cherokee but now you'd have to buy a used one.
