Thanks for the information. I suppose the maps will improve on the GPS with time, maybe they already have, but the ones I have seen paint with a broad brush. I was thinking that maps printed off of something like TOPO! were called digital maps.
I can import and export l&l with my Garmin to and from TOPO! I have made a number of unsucessful searchs for a location in the eastern reaches of DV and and I have noted my progress, or lack of progress, by taking fixes with the Garmin. I then export the data to my TOPO! maps thus displaying a clear record of my folly.
