Only the true springs devotee can appreciate this.
My wife and I are expecting our 2nd child this week and
as a result it will be some time before my next trip to the
springs. So to hold me over for a while I did the next
best thing under the circumstances. If you live in
Southern California right now you will notice the wind is blowing
good tonight. I went out back pulled up a lawn chair kicked off my shoes
and with a Cuban Monte Cristo cigar and a bottle of Guinness
sat down next to my 1968 Land Rover 109 that smells slightly of 90 weight
as all good rovers should and thought of the springs.
I watched Orions Belt rise over my garage just like it rises over
Dry Mountain, listened to the wind blow through my
neighbors palm tree just like it does at the springs.
Closed my eyes and let my memory run wild of years of great times at the
springs with good freinds. It is silly I know, but I
walked back into the house feeling refreshed and renewed.
Just wanted to share the experience with those that
would understand.
