Re: the tires, I would leave them be if you were only taking short side trips off-road. If you want to do some of the less traveled routes and such your best investment is a good pair of shoes (tires) and lots of supplies :)
PS. By driving a Ford Expedition..do you think you are helping terrorism??? (I don't!)
