Road condition from Lee Flat to Grapevine Cyn

Does anyone have any information on this stretch of road? - other than what is posted on the DV site. It has been probably 20 years since I have been on it. In those days it was "sleeping bag"(only) and a '77 Chev Shortbed 4X4... Today it is a '02 Silverado 2500HD, 4X4, 8.1L , short box, with a crew cab-for the kids. As I recall there are some rather large boulders near the southern end of Grapevine canyon and a good place to camp - Am I correct? Ok - now the question du jour...... no laughing..... can I get "my wife's" 27 foor travel trailer over this road.... Leaving the trailer and the wife at home are not options.... IF this is not do-able, due to road conditions, or ever, are there places along the gravel road towards Cero Gordo to camp? Mr. Wright what do you think?
