With your group you will not have any trouble. You should be fine with those plans. I haven't been over Steel pass in a few years, but now that it is more popular it is easier to follow than 5-6 years ago. I was up Lippencott last July and the road was fine.
Don't forget to check Marble Bath (if its still there) :-(
