$300.00 (plus registration, license, etc. fees) sounds like a deal UNTIL you factor in the cost of the emergency rescue services by the various responding agencies; all of which now try to recoup expenses when rescues are made in remote areas. Imagine being billed by a governmental agency for hundreds of thousands of dollars claimed expenses for providing tax-funded public services. Unless you are alone, you are taking your emergency support services with you. If you are trekking alone in remote areas, your self-confidence level precludes any such concerns.
