You forgot to mention the museum. A couple of years ago I viewed the multi-class reunion held for the alumni of Trona High School. I was struck by the fond memories of the town expressed by the returning former students. And also that most of them had got the hell out of there.
I find a walk through the museum a sad reminder of what was once proud and largely cohesive community. A number of factors have contributed to the decline of the community, one being decisions made at the far-away county seat, but I don't suppose that discussion is appropriate for this forum.
