The only thing I didn't see mentioned by others is there's a restriction as to how close to a water supply that you can camp, so as not to disturb wildlife. Also I believe the $10.00 pass is good for 7 days.
Why not forget the established camp grounds if you want peace and quiet. Find a nice isolated canyon somewhere off the panamint valley side, and you likely won't see people for weeks or more at a time. That is if you don't opt for Golar Wash.
