Simply put, this argument, when broken down, turns out to be nothing more than conjecture. I anxiously await more specific road locations, assuming they do exist, in the "affected" national parks. Just because a political organization gives out numbers, it is by no means adequate verification that they are accurate, or, more appropriately, if the roads will be paved.
Also, does anyone expect some of the outlandish claims this guy makes to actually come true? Does anyone know how many millions of dollars paving Saline Valley road would cost? Does Inyo County have that kind of money at their disposal for such a project? Do we really think a Circle K will pop up at the Racetrack? Let's get real here.
Also, evidence about wildlife population reduction in relation to a small stretch of new road would be valuable since it is brought up. Once again, the example of Denali and Grand Canyon boils down to conjecture.
It takes a half a brain to repeat the dogma you hear. However, it takes a fully functioning mind to analyze data, take it tinto context with the real world, and examine social and economical implications.
