Trailhead Crime

Anyone here had any problems with crime in the backcountry? I had my car broken into at the Mojave Narrows Dam, Pacific Crest Trailhead, during a hike to Deep Creek. Lot's of meth labs and partying teenagers in that area, so it's no surprise. Now when I park, I check the ground for windshield glass.

Anyone else have similar experiences, or recommend areas to avoid?
