I should have read further before posting. The resort graciously offered a refund which is the appropriate method. Sounds like management there is on the ball. I have been ripped off too many times by remote motels/resorts in the past that are not appreciative of their customers.
Congratulations to the Panamint Resort for offering a reparation.
