I did the racetrack run then hidden valley run to saline road. My Magellan sport track pro had the hidden valley road all mapped, or so I also thought. From what you described I encountered the same problem and had to back track to pick up another road that later rejoined the track on the gps map also. I still say you can't beat the gps.
