RWB, nope no broken honda 250, no garage, your right about value though. i bought my 1st HD in '69(before the japs built real bikes), full dress '66 Ele-glide w/6k miles, got it for $800, sweet/clean but like all older bikes of that era/ wrench on it, until it became a love /hate thing. sold it for an unreal $2k. in '70 . The new retro Hd's are far more reliable..you can actually go places and tour now..but i still see that pick-up truck behind the pack..and rarely see a solo HD rider...if i had the xtra value bucks and a garage id have a heritage fat boy to look at and ride to town .My 10 yr old Jap St-1A Pan-Euro is pretty good for a stock 120 hp,60mpg, sportouring bike, check the valves at 100k and they dont need adjustment w/ average lifespan is 250-300k miles, thats a lot of bang for my buck.. As for Trucks and hot rice a roni nights, those Reno guys are into image & icon worship, and i am just an unkept desert rat,rockhound.. my ol 41 chevy truck has 800k hard miles on it and looks it..but i wouldnt trade it for a new one, Jap, german, Or American.. though a cumminsD in my ol chev would be nice...
