7/13/34, ford had a better idea, a replacement for his flathead engine, then he discovered a french guy named chevrolet had already patented the overhead valve engine design in the '20's.. so Ford had to wait till the early 50's to copy it legally.
On 7/13/34 on the other side of the world the japanese already had an overhead valve engine in use, but they werent recognized in the known automotive world of that time.
