It seems to me that there are a few old vehicles that you can reach without 4X4. There is an old straight 8 buick at Harrisburg and a few interesting remains from Pete Aguerberry's old camp. You can also find the old Dodge pickup, allegedly belonging to Charles Manson, at Ballarat. There are also a few miscellaneous car bodies along the Las Vegas and Tonopah Railroad right of way between Beatty and Rhyolite. The railroad grade is easily passable most of the way to Rhyolite in 2WD, althought there a few bad spots that might force you to turn around once you are within about 2 miles of Rhyolite.
There are many others reachable in the DV area using 2WD if you are willing to push the envelope a bit. Good luck and post us some links to your photos.
