If traveling east, or up, Goler Wash, less than 100 yards beyond the "Welcome to Death Valley National Park" sign is the turnoff to Barker Ranch. Turnoff is to the right, or south, but sharp so that you almost double back in direction for the first 100 feet or so.

This turnoff leads directly to and through the clump of trees that line the narrow entrance. The road continues past the grove of trees about 3/8th of a mile to the Ranch.

The trees do well to hide the entrance to Sourdough Canyon, and occasional rains do well to obscure tracks marking the turnoff. Also, the trees have some low hanging branches that can impede tall vehicles with roof racks or camper shells.

The turnoff is easier to see going the other way, coming down Goler Wash, sometimes leading folks accidentally into Sourdough Canyon rather than futher down the Wash.

Still nobody has answered my trivia question about what makes the exterior of the north wall of the ranch house different from other wall? Check it out...
