About 25 or so years ago, I went with our 4WD club for a campout at Red Rock Canyon, before it became a park. We camped just to the east side of hwy 14 where it cuts thru the big red rock cliffs. At that time, you could take a trail out the east side of that area via a narrow rocky trail, and work your way over to the area where Burro Schmidts tunnel is located. A few years later we attempted to take the same trail, but was confronted with a large closure sign at the east edge of the immediate camping area. Is that still the condition there?
