Thanks Tom, While I have not been to Death Valley, I am a "rat" and prepared for the heat and off road. I'm just seeing conflicting info about summer road closures. Some maps I have seen have "road closed during summer months", but others have not. Would I be correct in assuming the Park Service just wants people to be careful about where they go in summer? I just don't want to get into an area only to discover it's off limits even to off roading and I certainly don't want to get stuck.
