The backcountry of DV is relatively safe. I don’t even give it a second thought (vandalism or shot up).

Just be sure to leave a note on your windshield of where you are going, with the date, time left and time returning and don’t deviate from it.

And bring plenty of water and stay away from the beer and soda until you return.

Enjoy its glory and be safe and stay hydrated.
