Anyone who hikes anywhere in Death Valley in that kind of heat is asking for trouble. you can never carry enough water in such extreme conditions! I was there in May 2002 where it was 118 in Stovepipe. I stayed in my room there all day except for picture taking at sunrise/sunset.
A word to the wise: Stay OUT of the HEAT!
