I'd be careful and contact locations in Las Vegas, not just the national 800 numbers, to make sure they are going to give you a 4X4. The list provided by Todd has many vehicles that are not suited to off pavement travel, such as Dodge Caravans and such. When you (the original person who started this thread) pick of the vehicle, give it a complete safety check, tires, fluids, functionality . . . if anything is out of spec or even if you have a hunch it is not running right, don’t take it into the desert.
After that, make a list of those things you (the original person who started this thread) cannot bring with you on the flight in to Las Vegas, like water, food and all that and research a place or places to procure it all before heading out.
