road conditions, Furnace Creek - Jubilee Pass

I will be participating for the third time in a fundraising bike ride sponsored by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on 10-25. I was wondering if there have been any significent changes in the road conditions from Furnace Creek to Jubilee Pass during the past year. Also if anyone cares to let me know the expected weather conditions next weekend i sure would appreciate the info. I rode in rain last year and 95 degree temps in 2001 so I am looking forward to what comes next.
