I'll be at PSR November 20-25 and plan on making several excursions, one being my first trip to Ballarat>Goler>Barker>Mengel>Warm Spring. Last I saw posted here, the road through Goler was getting a bit rough. What are the current road conditions on this route?
I'll be renting a Jeep Cherokee ("or similar") in LV, so whether I actually make this trip depends on the actual vehicle, tires and the usual variables of road condition and weather when I arrive.
If any experienced drivers are going this way between Nov 21-24, any chance of my tagging along? Since I won't be fully geared up (compressor, extra spare, tow strap, etc.), this would reduce my anxiety level.
BTW, I also plan on a return visit to Hidden Valley/Racetrack by way of Hunter Mountain. Ditto to the above.
I've driven DV backcountry solo on a couple of earlier visits, so I know the precautions and take them seriously (extra food, water, warm clothes, ...).
